Krish Karunakaran is a management professional with well over 20 years experience within the Investment Fund Industry with extensive expertise in institutional asset management, building client-focused organizations through strategic business transformation and leadership. He is currently the Canadian Head of Operations at Mercer Global Investments and previously served as Vice President of Investment Operations at AGF Investment Inc. Krish began his career at Scotiabank and went to join State Street in 1999 progressively holding senior positions within their Canadian and Alternative Solution businesses. He graduated with a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Toronto.

Akilan is a pivotal Partner and Head of Institutional & Strategic Partnerships at Munro Partners, a global growth equity fund manager in Melbourne. He drives the firm’s growth and global client relations from Toronto. His expertise stems from significant roles at CI Global Asset Management and Invesco, focusing on institutional marketing and product development. As a proactive Director at Tamils in Finance and an investment committee member at the Aphasia Institute, Akilan commits to community upliftment and professional excellence. His qualifications include a CFA, a Master of Finance from Queens University, and a Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University, demonstrating his deep understanding of the financial landscape.

Brammy has over 15 years experience leading global teams in capital markets, asset servicing and accounting. Brammy holds a BA in Accountancy Studies from University of Waterloo, has her CPA,CA designation and started her accounting career at Hilborn LLP. She is currently the Head of Operations at Northstar Trading overseeing business and trade operations. Prior to this, she led Commodities Operations at RBC Capital Markets and was the Global Head of Foreign Exchange Operations at RBC Investor & Treasury Services. Brammy is passionate about empowering the next generation of Tamil leaders through mentorship and support to create impact and change in the financial services sector.

Kumi, with a significant career in financial services, has led teams at Citco Fund Services and managed operations for major global funds. At RBC, she oversaw Canadian operations, encompassing asset services and treasury for diverse clients. Now, as Manulife Investment Management’s Global Head of Sponsor Processing, she focuses on Retirement Operations in North America. Beyond her professional role, Kumi serves on the board of Educators Financial Group and is active in North Toronto Collegiate’s Parent Council. Committed to education as a key to equality, she dedicates herself to mentoring young finance aspirants through Tamils in Finance.

As the Senior Vice-President, Head of ETF Strategy at CI GAM, Nirujan spearheads the ETF Sales Strategy and its growth, while managing the ETF Sales Support team to provide investor and advisor education. His extensive experience includes product management, indexing, factor research, and ETF portfolio development, contributing to the launch of numerous ETFs in Canada. Before CI GAM, Nirujan advanced in roles at Invesco and Horizons ETFs, focusing on product management and sales strategy. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University and is a CFA Charterholder. As Director of Networking for Tamils in Finance, Nirujan is dedicated to enhancing the network and success of Canadian Tamils in finance.

With over 15 years of experience in finance for publicly traded companies, Thulasi Thedchanamoorthy currently excels as the Finance Director at TMX Group Ltd, where she spearheads planning and performance management to refine organizational processes. Beyond her finance prowess, Thulasi has made a notable impact as the former Board Chair of Newcomer Women’s Services Toronto (NEW), driving the organization’s growth and boosting its profile to better empower newcomer women in Canada. A Chartered Professional Accountant and York University Commerce graduate, Thulasi now applies her expertise as the Board Treasurer for Tamils in Finance (TIF). Her involvement is dedicated to strengthening TIF’s mission to create a nurturing network for professionals across all career stages.
Director, Marketing
Connie Sarvanandan’s marketing career spans over 25 years of executive leadership, including roles at Nestlé and Time Warner, where at HBO, she was instrumental in developing international business strategies and digital platform growth. As a long-time real estate advisor and award-winning Realtor, she now plays a pivotal role on the RE/MAX Hallmark leadership team, helping to guide over 2,200 agents. She is also the company’s expert and trainer for Artificial Intelligence for Realtors. Connie is excited to bring her marketing acumen to Tamils in Finance in the newly created Marketing Board role, supporting the elevation of Tamil students and professionals in the finance industry.
